Which LG refrigerator water filters are actually NSF certified? (LT1000P, LT700P and replacements)

Five of the twelve LG-compatible refrigerator water filters in our 45-filter sample are certified for the exact model sold: Waterdrop LT1000PC (element code WD-LT1000P), the Waterdrop LT700P replacement, Maxblue MB-LT1000P, GLACIER FRESH GF-1000P and Filterlogic FL-RF46. LG’s own LT1000P / ADQ74793501 and LT700P did not resolve in any of the three certification databases we searched, under either the retail brand LG or the corporate registrant LG Electronics. That is a verification gap, not a finding that LG’s filters are uncertified, and it is the same gap GE’s OEM filters sat in until the check was re-run under GE’s certificate-holder name (GE Appliances, A Haier Company). The five certified LG-platform filters do not hold the same certifications as each other: three hold NSF/ANSI 42 and 53, one holds 42 only, and one holds 53 and 401 without 42.

The short version

  • Five of the twelve LG-compatible filters we checked are certified for the exact model sold: Waterdrop LT1000PC, the Waterdrop LT700P replacement, Maxblue MB-LT1000P, GLACIER FRESH GF-1000P and Filterlogic FL-RF46.
  • LG’s own LT1000P (ADQ74793501) and LT700P returned no listing in NSF, IAPMO R&T or WQA under either “LG” or “LG Electronics”.
  • The certified five carry three different standard sets, so “NSF certified” on its own does not tell you what a filter is certified to do.
  • Four LG-platform listings claim certifications the databases do not show for the model sold: AQUACREST FF46, ICEPURE RWF4700A-S / RWF4700BB, Pureza PF16 and GOLDEN ICEPURE RWF4700A.
  • LT1000P is the most common filter in our fitment index, covering 9 of the 50 fridge models we document.

LG’s own LT1000P and LT700P did not appear in any of the three databases

Two LG OEM rows were checked. The first is LT1000P, sold as LT1000P / ADQ74793501 and marketed with the claim “NSF42, NSF53, and NSF401”. The second is LT700P, marketed as NSF-certified in wording we could not capture verbatim.

NSF’s certification listings return nothing for either: no rows under TradeName=LG and no rows under Company=LG. WQA’s product finder returns no result for LT1000P and no result for LT700P. IAPMO R&T has no “LG” or “LG Electronics” listee at all, and a substring search for LG returned only unrelated companies.

The detail worth knowing is what an IAPMO search for the model string actually turns up. Searching LT1000P surfaces listings filed by compatible-filter makers, including Yunda H&H Tech, Steve’s Appliance Spares and Fridge Filters Pty Ltd, for NSF/ANSI 42 and 53. Searching LT700P surfaces Swift Green, Yunda, Pacific Citadel, Tozone and others. None of those listings belongs to LG. A shopper who searches the model number, sees a certification hit and assumes it covers LG’s own cartridge has found a third-party certificate instead.

Both rows were re-checked on 2026-08-07 in a clean, single-tab sequential pass, trying “LG Electronics” as well as “LG”. That is the method that resolved GE’s OEM filters after the first pass missed them. Both LG rows stayed unresolved.

Five LG-compatible filters are certified for the exact model sold, to three different standard sets

The five confirmed LG-platform certifications break down as follows.

Waterdrop LT1000PC (WD-LT1000P). NSF lists the element code WD-LT1000P under Waterdrop file EFF-6046S, manufacturer Qingdao Ecopure Filter Co., Ltd., certified to NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 401.

Waterdrop LT700P replacement. Two element codes sit under Waterdrop file EFF-6032S: WD-LT700P carries NSF/ANSI 42, and WDP-LT700P carries 53 and 401.

Maxblue MB-LT1000P. Listed as an element on Maxblue file EFF-6046S, same manufacturer, certified to NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 401.

GLACIER FRESH GF-1000P. Listed under Ningbo Koze Purification Equipment Co., Ltd. as four variants (GF-1000P, GF-1000P-A, GF-1000P-N, GF-1000P-NEW), certified to NSF/ANSI 42 only, for chlorine reduction with material and structural integrity. No NSF/ANSI 53 appears for this model.

Filterlogic FL-RF46. Listed as an element on Filterlogic file EFF-6046S, certified to NSF/ANSI 53 and 401. NSF/ANSI 42 does not appear for this element code, which is unusual, since 42 is the baseline standard most competing LG filters carry.

NSF/ANSI 42 covers aesthetic effects such as chlorine taste and odour, 53 covers health-related contaminants including lead, and 401 covers emerging contaminants; NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 is a lead-content standard for the materials that touch water rather than a removal claim (the standards compared here).

The structural point is that the same file number appears under three different trade names, and the standards do not travel with it. Waterdrop, Maxblue and Filterlogic each have an EFF-6046S file traced to the same manufacturer, and the standards attached to WD-LT1000P, MB-LT1000P and FL-RF46 are not identical. Looking up the file number, or the brand, gives a different answer from looking up the element code on the box.

Waterdrop’s LG listings name a standard the record does not show, and omit two it does

Waterdrop’s LT700P page claims “NSF 42, 372 certified”, and the LT1000P product page uses the same standard pairing, with the marketplace title reading “NSF Certified”. NSF’s database shows no NSF/ANSI 372 entry for WD-LT1000P or WD-LT700P, the two element codes behind those filters. It does show 42, 53 and 401 for them.

So the claim names a standard the record does not show and leaves off the two strongest certifications the filter actually holds. NSF/ANSI 372 concerns the lead content of materials rather than how much lead a filter removes, so it is not a stronger claim than 53 anyway.

Our study records this as a mismatch rather than an overstatement or an understatement, because neither direction describes it. For the LT700P replacement the split is worth seeing: 42 sits on the WD-LT700P element code and 53 plus 401 sit on WDP-LT700P. Check one code and you will conclude the filter holds less than it does. Check the marketing and you will “confirm” a 372 certification that neither code carries. Details of how the brand’s listings compare across platforms are in our Waterdrop certification file.

Four LG-platform listings claim certifications the databases do not show for the model sold

AQUACREST FF46 (AQF-FF46) claims “NSF 42 & 372 Certified”. AquaCrest’s entire NSF presence is five models: EFF-6008S1/AQF-FF08, EFF-6032S/AQF-FF32D, EFF-6038S1/AQF-FF38, AQF-FF12 and EFF-6002S/AQF-FF15, all NSF/ANSI 42 only. The code on the box appears nowhere in that list. The AquaCrest pattern is brand-level certification stretched over models that were never listed.

AQUACREST FF32 (AQF-FF32) makes a related problem visible. We could not capture a standard-specific claim for this SKU, so the row is recorded as no claim rather than as an overstatement. The nearest verifiable data point is the variant code AQF-FF32D, which does appear, certified NSF/ANSI 42 only. The code being sold, without the D suffix, is not a distinct entry.

ICEPURE RWF4700A-S / RWF4700BB claims “NSF/ANSI 53, NSF/ANSI 42 & NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 Lead-Free certified”. NSF’s database returns zero Icepure-branded products of any model. The IAPMO check for this row could not be completed reliably in either pass, so the row rests on the NSF negative plus a disclosed gap; the listing’s own title names a long tail of LG model codes, including LFXC22526S, LFCS27596S and LFX28978ST, none of which appear in our 50-model fitment index. Elsewhere in this study, Icepure SKUs did resolve through IAPMO under the registrant TOP PURE USA INC, one with NSF/ANSI 42 and 372 and two with 372 only. The brand is not uniformly unverifiable. The LG-specific codes are what is missing.

Pureza PF16 claims NSF certification. Pureza, registered as Ningbo Pureza Technology LLC, lists three NSF models: PF34, PF54 and PF55, all NSF/ANSI 42. PF16 is not among them.

GOLDEN ICEPURE RWF4700A / ADQ72910901-class claims “NSF/ANSI 53 & 42 & 372 CERTIFICATION”. A trade-name search returns no matching products, and no Golden Icepure listing of any kind appears. Its twin SKU on the Samsung platform, RWF0700A, ended the same study as could-not-verify on its specific NSF 42 claim (the Samsung page covers that row).

The LG gap is a naming problem, and a naming problem is not a counterfeit finding

Certification databases index by certificate-holder name, not by the brand on the shelf. Refrigerator cartridges are frequently manufactured by third parties and certified under those third parties’ names, which is exactly what happened with GE: nothing resolved until “GE Appliances, A Haier Company” was searched. LG’s OEM cartridges are plausibly certified under a contract manufacturer or subsidiary name our protocol did not hit, and our method records that as unverifiable rather than as uncertified.

The distinction runs in both directions and both matter. “Could not verify” is not “uncertified”, and “uncertified” is not “counterfeit”. We use counterfeit only where a named primary source used it, which in this research area means AHAM’s 2018 test of 32 known counterfeit filters, all of which failed the NSF/ANSI lead standard at twice rated life, and U.S. Customs seizures of counterfeit filter shipments. LT1000P covers 9 of the 50 fridge models in our fitment index, and one LG model takes LT700P

Nine LG models in our index take LT1000P: LMXS28626S, LFXS28968S, LRFVS3006S, LRFXS2503S, LRMVS3006S, LFXS26596S, LFXS26973S, LRSXS2706S and LMXC23796S. That makes LT1000P the most common single filter in the index. The alternate codes matter when you search: most of our rows list the family as ADQ74793501/502; LRFVS3006S lists AGF80300704 alongside it, while LRMVS3006S and LFXS26596S list AGF80300704 alone.

One LG model in the index takes LT700P: LFXS24623S, which we also record under its sibling code LFXC24726S, with the family code ADQ36006101. If your fridge is not in the index, the filter family code on the cartridge housing is a more reliable search term than the fridge model, because the same cartridge is used across several model years. What we could not determine

  • Whether LG’s own filters are certified under a name we did not try. Both LG OEM rows were unresolved after a clean sequential re-check using the retail and one corporate name. We cannot say the certificates do not exist; we can say they are not findable from the product.
  • The IAPMO result for the LG Icepure rows. The RWF4700A-S / RWF4700BB and Golden Icepure rows carry an incomplete IAPMO check, disclosed in the dataset. Their “no listing found” status rests on NSF plus that gap.
  • Whether any of these listings has since been withdrawn. Certification status changes. Every status here is as of the 2026-08-07 capture.
  • How any of these filters performs. This is a public-records verification, not a lab test. No independent lead-removal test of the general aftermarket exists, including for LG-compatible filters.
